Never short of fantastic. It’s so consistently good. The environment fits no matter what you’re feeling. Quick lunch with friends after a fitness class, or a date night when you’re feeling something a little less fussy. Really great rolls, raw dishes, and an excellent happy hour selection. All in the heart of the loop at a stellar price.

one of the best happy hours I’ve had in a while! There was such an extensive menu and so many yummy options to choose from. Perfect time to try something new or stick to what you like, such as their sushi rolls (my personal faves). Everything was really good quality and came out with a nice presentation as well as fast service - I’ll definitely come back

If you're a sushi lover in Houston, Aka Sushi is a spot you need to check out! As a foodie always on the hunt for great eats, I found this place to be a real gem . Aka Sushi strikes a perfect balance between quality and price. The food is top-notch, and the prices are very fair, making it an ideal spot for anyone wanting to enjoy high-quality sushi without breaking the bank . During our visit, we tried the happy hour menu, and it was fantastic. We started with edamames, which were perfectly cooked and lightly salted—a great way to kick off the meal. The shrimp avocado roll was next, offering a creamy, fresh flavor that was absolutely delightful . The tuna sampler was incredibly fresh and flavorful, melting in your mouth with each bite. While the vegetable tempura was a tad oily, it was still tasty. The shrimp tempura, however, was spot on—crispy and cooked to perfection . The real standout of the evening was the firecracker shrimp. This dish is a must-try! The combination of spice, crunch, and flavor made it unforgettable . For the kids, we ordered rice, which was simple yet well-prepared and perfect for their tastes. One dish that missed the mark was the tempura banana. It was overly fried and didn't quite hit the sweet spot for us . The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow . However, given the fair pricing and the excellent quality of the food, this is a minor inconvenience. Overall, Aka Sushi is a fantastic spot in Houston for sushi lovers. The excellent food quality and reasonable prices make it a place worth visiting. Just bring a bit of patience for the service, and you'll have a great dining experience .

Aka Sushi is one of our go-to spots for a chill date night. We tried the Señor Jaime roll this time and wow, it was so fresh and light, definitely a new fave. Also had the baked mussels which were super creamy and cheesy, just the right comfort bite. The vibe is always laid-back and the food hits every time. Always happy to come back here with my hubby.

Lunch specials here are sooooo good!!! I enjoyed the veggie bento and my husband ordered the sushi special. They both came with miso soup and a super fresh side salad. The servers here are very attentive.

Foods were good. The at most was nice and the staff were welcoming. Only problem was all the staff would line up by the wall “starring” at guess and it felt like we were being watched the whole time. Its nothing wrong would just prefer a bit more privacy is all. Recommended for sure!
